Texas Oklahoma District Life Member Status
Life member status in the
Texas Oklahoma district provides a unique opportunity for recognizing
Kiwanians who qualify for special recognition.
Individuals who achieve life member Status are those that
perpetuate the Objects and Objectives of Kiwanis International. A minimum length of membership in Kiwanis of three (3)
years is required.
Once Life Membership in the
Texas Oklahoma Foundation is granted then the Club is no longer required
to pay Texas Oklahoma dues for that member.
The financial obligations of the Life Member to their club and to
Kiwanis International are not affected.
An application of Life
Membership initiated by a club or an individual is subject to the approval
of the Club board of directors and must be signed by the president or
secretary of the club.
Only a limited number may
achieve life membership status in an administrative year. The Board of Trustees of the Texas Oklahoma Foundation shall
determine the total number to be issued each year.
A club may apply for Life
Membership Status to honor its president or any other club member.
Family or friends of a member may apply through a local Kiwanis
Club. A division may apply to
honor its Lt. Governor or a Past Lt. Governor.
It is recognized that there may be exceptional situations.
Each member granted Life
Membership Status will receive a beautifully framed certificate.
Each certificate will be individually number and a permanent record
will be maintained in the district office.
It is appropriate that this memento be presented in a proper
Kiwanis setting. A member of
the Texas Oklahoma Foundation will try to be available to make the
presentation if desired. Please
indicate on the application where you would like the presentation to be
made (District meeting, Division meeting, home club,…) date, and if you
would like someone from the Foundation to present it, or if you would like
it mailed to someone.
Application must be made in the name of the individual not in the name of an office.
